If you're a parent, you need to read this

Rebecca Hagelin gives parents a heads-up about the fact that the books on their child's assigned reading list may be nothing more than pornography, with some drug use thrown in for good measure. Apparently "Are you there God? It's me, Margaret," which was every child's first "dirty" book is being relegated to the 6 year old set, so that the older children can read more pornographic, uh, sophisticated fair. (I'm being snide here, but -- scarily -- my sarcasm is only slightly removed from the truth.)
