Israel -- the perfect scapegoat for Middle East dictators

Have you noticed that whenever anyone tries to turn a spotlight onto the problems in Arab/Islamic countries they deflect it to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute:

"The United States could solve half its problems with 'terrorism' if it brought about a just settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the minister said, speaking to the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt."

The worst thing that could ever happen to most Arab leaders would be for Israel and the Palestinians to reach a far-reaching agreement. Oh, wait, I forgot, they can still always blame the US for their problems.
