The earthquake centennial
2006 marks the centennial year for the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. As part of that remembrance, photos that Jack London took immediately after the quake are being released. They're lovely photos (the few that one can view at the Chronicle) and they're wonderful reminders of the earth's power -- with the mercy that we're 100 years away from the event, and not struck by the raw image of its victims (think Pakistan).
