Losing our advantage

I've been reading Byron York's "Vast Left Wing Conspiracy" (see sidebar for link), which is an enjoyable, albeit depressing, book. It makes very plain that, despite the Dems' 2004 defeat, they have everything they need for victory in the coming years: a financer (Soros -- and it is scary to think that one man can buy and sell the whole political process) and an in-place organization (which knows how to get out the vote and amp the anger). The Republicans have a President who seems to have staked out his position crouched in a corner, and a fiscally irresponsible, waffling, weak Congress. I know where I'd go if I was an undecided.
