Irony alert

Getting past the fact that people on the Left generally seem to have exhibitionistic tendencies, I love the irony of this one: The AP caption for this picture:

Syrian born artist, Hala Faisal, protests the war in Iraq and the occupation of Palestine by appearing in the nude with anti-war slogans written in both English and Arabic, in Washington Square Park Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, in New York City. Faisal was arrested by New York City police.

Is Ms. Faisal entirely unaware of the fact that, if she had engaged in this type of protest in Iraq or Palestine, she would have been either (a) ripped apart quickly by an angry mob; or (b) ripped apart slowly, and then hung or shot, by government officials? I never know whether to be amused or angered when the Left uses the freedom of the West to defend the tyrannies of the Middle East.
