And you thought Madonna and Britney were disgusting

I've long been put off by Margaret Cho, whom I've considered a profoundly vulgar, unfunny, hack comic. That she is more than merely ignorant, though, is made glaringly clear in this detailed post about her at Flopping Aces. Actually, it's less about her and more about the infamous Baader-Meinhof gang of the 1970s. If you don't remember them, Curt takes you on a quick tour of their violent, Leftist-fueled rampage through Europe. And you're asking, why are Margaret Cho and the Baader-Meinhof gang appearing in the same post? Simple: Cho proudly boasts at her blog that she named her new dog Gudrun, after one of the terrorist leaders. Here's what Cho has to say:

[My new dog] Gudrun is named after the infamous Gudrun Ensslin who was the female leader of the Baader-Meinhof Gang, an art terrorist group from the 70s. Terrorism was different then. It had a chicness to it, which made it seem less like a dangerous menace and more like fashion.
Now be sure to take the time to read the background information the Curt provides to show just what an appalling thing it is when a Hollywood star from crudeness and ignorance, announces that terrorism and murder is chic. You know, it would normally be appropriate just to provide accurate information (as Curt) does, and then turn ones back on these horrible people. Unfortunately, their fame means that they are able to gain a platform from which to trumpet these appalling views, giving them credibility to people who don't have someone to translate, interpret and correct for them.
