Never a corrupt election he hasn't had his hand in

I wish the ordinary Palestinian people the best of luck with the upcoming elections. I'm less sanguine than I would have been, though, having just read this little bit of news:

Former United States President Jimmy Carter will arrive in the region soon, as head of an American monitors delegation that will supervise elections on January 25 for the Legislative Council in the Palestinian Authority.
You can always trust Carter to put his imprimatur on the most corrupt outcomes, so it doesn't bode well for the "man in the street" Palestinian. UPDATE: Jay Nordlinger isn't so thrilled about Carter either, and he really changes the stupid assumptions underlying Carter blither and disingenuous criticisms of the current administration.
