One wonders if NOW is listening

I'm not the first to comment at how remarkably quiet Western women's organizations have been about the growing threat to women's freedom and safety that parallels the rise of Islamism in the West. Perhaps that's starting to change, though, as the Paris riots bring some obvious things front and center. How else to explain this lengthy al-Reuters article about the daily humiliations and violence French gils suffer in the suburbs now aflame. What's unusual is that the article actually identifies the cultures at issue:

Apart from poverty, feminists say the dominance of traditional cultures among families of Arab and black African origin, combined with the growing role of Islam in the suburbs, have contributed to the harsh treatment girls get there. [Emphasis mine.]
Who'd ever have thunk an arm of the MSM would acknowledge that Islam, as interpreted with a healthy dose of Arab culture predating Mohammed, is, in a word, misogynistic.
