Let's not pull the plug; let's just cure the excesses

It's long, in-depth, extremely interesting stories such as this one, about a man trying to learn about lobotomies and why he had one in the 1950s, that make me want to save public radio and television. Stories such as this probably aren't go to to do very well in a purely commercial market (so they'd be lost), they're fascinating, and they don't involve a governmented funded institution using taxpayer monies to further a specific party's (read: Democratic Party's) political agenda.
