One of America's proudest moments
A nice article remember the Battle of Bulge, when America sacrificed almost 9,000 men to impose a massive defeat on Hitler. I've been to Bastogne, and it's a gloomy, sad place that smells of loss, fear and sadness. It's also an incredibly inspiring place -- one of those historic places where human blood truly spilled for a bigger cause and sanctified the soil beneath it (I'm thinking Gettysburg here, and El Alamein).
